This week’s Page Three model, Ashley Flaherty, is a young lady we’d like to have on our side. A UNCG senior majoring in human development, Ashley aspires to one day get her law degree and become an advocate for at-risk youth. She credits her grandfather, David, with sparking her interest in politics and law. Ashley attributes her focus on juvenile issues in part to her experiences while working as an intern for the Guilford County District Attorney’s Office last summer. While shadowing assistant DA Moshera Mills, she sat in on juvenile court hearings and reviewed cases that came before the DA’s office. But her interest in working with young people is lifelong passion. “I’ve always wanted to work with at-risk youth,” she said. A part-time server at JP Looney’s, Ashley plans on working as a juvenile court counselor upon graduation from UNCG next spring. “I really want to stay in this area,” she said.
