The holiday social calendar is winding down in the art scene. For those who aren’t traveling, it’s a great time to get to cook, host friends and eat good food with your family. I’m personally planning to get acquainted with some cherished books as Christmas approaches and maybe settle in for a couple Netflix movies with my wife....

The list of galleries would take up this entire column, but suffice it to say you can hit Trade Street in Winston-Salem or South Elm Street between McGee and Lee streets and find what you’re looking for....

If you’re like me, Thanksgiving week has snuck up on you. Plowing through my e-mail inbox on Monday night, I learned this means that arts-related events are mighty thin. Everyone’s staying put this week, but come early December the galleries will start hopping as the Christmas shopping season gets underway....
