Light up the arts gala

Light Up the Arts Gala marks the opening of the new Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts in Winston-Salem. The party starts at 6 p.m. and lasts until midnight. The highlight of the evening will come at 8 p.m. with a Tony Bennett performance. The Womble Carlyle Gallery will feature work by Piedmont Craftsmen. Finally, in the Hanesbrands Theatre, guests will dance to their favorite disco tunes. On Saturday, September 11, a ribbon cutting ceremony for the public will be held at 10 a.m. Jason Earles of “Hannah Montana” will be there from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Bouncers will also premier this weekend. Music at the mansion

It’s the third annual Music at the Mansion concert series! For the next three Sundays, bring your lawn chairs and blankets to Blandwood Mansion in downtown Greensboro, sit down and enjoy live jazz and blues from 2 to 6 p.m. Tonight, House of Dues and Melva Houston will perform. Aqua zumba
