Bookmarks to Hold Book Sale of Village Book Shop Inventory

Bookmarks, a literary arts nonprofit, is holding a book sale on Saturday, October 22 and Sunday, October 23 featuring 6,500 books from the inventory of the memorable Village Book Shop, formerly in Reynolda Village. Proceeds will benefit the event space that Bookmarks plans to open in late spring of 2017. The new space, which will be located at 636 ½ West Fourth Street in downtown Winston-Salem, will allow Bookmarks to double its annual outreach. The new space will contain a nonprofit independent bookstore, event space for up to 75 attendees, staff offices, and a meeting and conference room.

The items in the Book Sale are priced to sell, ranging from $5 each for under 10 books or $4 each for 10 and over. In addition, special editions, collector’s editions, and signed books will be available at varying prices. Credit cards and cash will be accepted.

Attendees must sign up in advance for a two-hour time slot at Entrances are timed on Saturday, October 22: 9–11 a.m.; 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.; 2–4 p.m. and on Sunday, October 23: 1–3 p.m. and 3:30–5:30 p.m. There is no charge to view the many books, which include 500 autographed books, 3,500 children’s books, 500 cookbooks, and 1,000 art/photography books as well as fiction, nonfiction, and more. Directions to the location of the Book Sale will be shared with attendees after they reserve a spot. The event is in Winston-Salem not far from downtown.
