Homicide at Club Rain
Police responded to a report of a gunshot victim at 219 Lewis St., the address of Club Rain, in Greensboro. When officers arrived on the scene they reportedly located an unidentified black man in his mid-thirties lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. The victim was shot multiple times and was transported to Moses Cone hospital, where he was pronounced dead. This is Greensboro’s ninth homicide of the year. Police are investigating the homicide. Robbers escape pursuit
Sgt. Barnes witnessed two subjects breaking into cars on the 4200 block of United Street in Greensboro. The subjects fled the scene and were able to escape arrest. K-9 units were sent out to track the subjects but were not able to find them. The suspect’s vehicle was located, and it contained items from five different vehicle larcenies. The items were returned to the owners. The victims were described as black males, about 20-years-old and wearing white T- shirts and blue jeans. Brandon Shelton, 26, and Jeremy Dean, 23, were at the Kangaroo gas station on West Vandalia Road in Greensboro on July 17 at about 2:15 a.m. when they said they asked a man for directions, and a fight broke out. Both victims were stabbed multiple times and were transported to Moses Cone hospital. The suspect fled on foot and was last seen running behind the store. The suspect is described as a black man with a muscular build and cornrows. He was said to be wearing a white Polo T-shirt and khaki pants.
