ROBBERY AND ARREST ON WEST MARKET
Greensboro police responded to a call near the 5500 block of West Market Street at about 5:50 a.m. on July 6. Though the call was initially for domestic assault, upon arrival police determined the crime was a strong-arm robbery. Karlvin K. Jackson, 25, forcibly took an undisclosed amount of money from Marnee L. Williams, 22, the police said. Police located Jackson in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex and arrested him without incident. Officers discovered cocaine in his possession and additional felony charges were filed for drug possession. Jackson was placed under a $10,000 bond.
ROBBERY ON MENDENHALL
Greensboro police responded to a robbery at the 400 block of Mendenhall Street at about 3:50 a.m. on July 6. Mika Paige, Kara Weinacht and Rebecca Payne were walking when they were approached from behind by two black males. One suspect put an object in a victim’s chest and demanded money. The suspects took handbags from two of the victims and struck the third in the face when she told them that she did not have money. The suspects then fled on foot and may have gotten into an unknown vehicle on McGee Street. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact CrimeStoppers at 336.373.1000
