GREENSBORO MAN SHOT DEAD
In the early morning hours of Feb. 5, Greensboro police responded to a call at 1802 Maplewood Lane, Apt. D, where they found a man dead from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as John Christopher Shaw Hewett. An investigation revealed that Hewett had been engaged in a struggle with a resident before the shots were fired. Additional information will be released as the case progresses.
STABBING VICTIMS IN EASTERN GREENSBORO
On Feb. 1, Greensboro police located a 50-year-old man at 306-H Avalon Road who had sustained a stab wound to the chest. The victim was transported to Moses Cone Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. On Saturday, Feb. 5, authorities responded to a call at 2118 Everitt St. in reference to an assault. Twenty-year-old Courtland Robinson was cut with a box cutter by an acquaintance who then fled the area. The assailant was identified as 23-year-old Lamarcus Hemingway. Warrants have been issued for his arrest.
ELECTRONICS BURGLAR EVADES AUTHORITIES
On Sunday, Greensboro police were summoned to 2205 Braceyridge Road in reference to a burglary. Benjamin Troy Lockhart and his wife were sleeping when they awoke to claims from their children that the front door was open and items had been stolen from the residence. The items reportedly taken were a big screen television, laptop computer and an iPod. There are no suspects at this time.
UPDATE ON WINSTON-SALEM ROBBERY
Winston-Salem police have arrested a suspect involved in the Jan. 16 robbery of Ricky Lee Wilson that took place at the 2400 block of Old Greensboro Road. Maurice Ledale Goodine has been arrested along with three juveniles on charges of common law robbery and assault Inflicting serious bodily injury. The investigation is continuing.
