SUSPECT WITH BB GUN THWARTED AT DINER

When a suspect approached Sade Meadows’ car on Sunday in the parking lot at Jake’s Diner around 3:30 a.m. with a gun, they probably didn’t expect her to grab it from them. Meadows took the gun from them before realizing it was a BB gun and dropping it. The suspect escaped, though probably not without embarrassment.

SUSPECT ARRESTED IN FIREARM DISCHARGE INCIDENT

Police responded to Woodside Drive in Greensboro on Sunday after someone shot into a residence several times and fled the scene in a Gold Lexus around 2:15 a.m. Police later arrested Ryan Tyree Sidberry and charged him with the crime. There were no injuries.

MAN SHOT, LATER REALIZES IT

A gunshot wound victim at Moses Cone Hospital told police he was walking in the area of Lawndale and Cone Boulevard in Greensboro on June 30 when he heard what sounded like a gunshot. Later, he realized he had a “non life threatening gunshot wound to his lower extremities” and went to the hospital for treatment. Police responded at 3:45 p.m. to speak with the victim.

PAPA JOHN’S DRIVER BEATEN, ROBBED

A delivery driver for Papa John’s Pizza was attacked by five suspects on East Cone Boulevard, one of them wielding a baseball bat, on June 29 not long after midnight. The suspects stole the delivery order and money before fleeing on foot. The injuries were not life threatening and the investigation is ongoing.
