Employees at the Fairway One Stop on Randleman Road in Greensboro told police that an Asian man pushed aside the clerk and grabbed money out of the till before fleeing in a four-door, silver Ford Taurus that was occupied by a heavyset black man and heavyset black woman. The incident occurred on the night of Aug. 29. Police obtained a warrant for Myung Suk Park, 41, related to the robbery.


A man wearing pajama bottoms and a white shirt walked into the Dollar General Store on Randleman Road early in the morning of Aug. 30 and displayed what looked like a handgun and stole some money. The man reportedly drove off in a black Mercury Mountaineer. The vehicle was spotted by police at the Scottish Inn on Greenhaven Road. When officers approached the man jumped out and ran from a short distance to Lynnhaven Court. Police recovered the money when they apprehended the man. Victor Plowden, 46, of Randleman, was arrested and charged with armed robbery.


Ingram Bell, a 34-year-old passenger in a vehicle traveling east on Whittington Street in Greensboro, was shot from someone standing on the sidewalk at about 6 p.m. on Aug. 30. The driver took Bell to the hospital, where she was reportedly treated for serious injuries. The shooter, who was described as a black man wearing a red shirt and blue jeans, reportedly fled to Hampton Homes on foot. Officers from the K9 unit, the central division, the southern division, the center city resource team, crime scene investigations and the criminal investigation division all responded to the scene.


Jeff Childress, who was visiting from Ohio, said he was walking near the intersection of Vance and Whittington streets when he was attacked by Thomas Perry. The 41-year-old man reportedly struck Childress several times with a beer bottle. Perry then took some property from Childress and ran away. Perry is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, armed robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia.
