Two arrested in connection with shootout
Greensboro police have arrested Vondrelle Xavier Majette, 23, of McLeansville, and Chris Taylor, 36, of Roanoke, Va. in connection with an aggravated assault at the Courtyard by Marriott on West Wendover Avenue. Majette was shot in his lower left leg, according to a police press release, and Taylor took a gunshot to his abdomen. Majette and Taylor were respectively taken to Cone hospital and High Point Medical Center and treated for injuries. Police are still investigating the conflict between the two men before the shootout took place.
Man charged in home invasion
Greensboro police have a suspect in the Jan. 6 burglary at a Clark Court residence. They arrested 20-year-old Monroe Herring Jr. at his home Calumet Place on Jan. 13 and charged him with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, first-degree bur- glary and second-degree kidnapping. The occu- pants told police that on Jan. 6 perpetrators forced their way into the house and held them at gunpoint as they ransacked the premises. The perpetrators took some property and left.
Man flees after wife shoots at him
Ricky Summers, 51, flagged down a Winston- Salem police officer on Old Greensboro Road and complained that his wife, Paula Summers, had fired several shots at him with a handgun trying to kill him. Summers said his wife was inside the house with their10-year-old son at the time. The department deployed its SWAT team, but did not find the mother and son. Police charge two in murder
Greensboro police believe they have found the killers of Christopher Mason, a Greensboro College security guard found dead at his home on Charles Street on Christmas Eve. Police charged Frederick Lamar Dee, 28, of Gastonia, and Lemiah Wyatt Sanders, 18, of Greensboro, with firstdegree murder. Greensboro detectives traveled to Gastonia on Jan. 13 to arrest Dee, who was being held on an unrelated warrant for failure to appear in court. Sanders was likewise in custody in the
