Surprise: Wiz Khalifa allegedly smokes weed

Winston-Salem police cited rapper Wiz Khalifa — Cameron Jibril Thomas — and “other members of the band and his staff” with simple possession of marijuana before his May 1 concert in Winston-Salem, though the police report is dated roughly an hour after the concert ended. Police were providing security at the event and conducted the investigation related to marijuana use on the tour buses. Khalifa, who is 25 and lives in Hollywood, is known for singing about marijuana use. His court date is set for July 27.

‘Unknown type weapon’ fired at residence

Greensboro police responded to a possible shots fired call around 6 p.m. on May 4 at the Sebastian Village Apartments. Police determined the front window on the 1200 block of East Washington Street had been shot into “by an unknown type weapon during the incident.” Nobody was injured. Police didn’t say what type of weapon they suspect, leaving the door wide open for speculation. A pellet gun? Slingshot? Paintball gun?

Jeans stolen by three men

Last week Greensboro police released fuzzy surveillance photo images of three men, presumably working together, who allegedly stole several pairs of jeans from “a local retailer” around 6 p.m. on April 22. The release is part of the Crimestoppers program, which offers a cash reward for help identifying suspects. No description was provided of the suspects or the items — including the number stolen — except that jeans were taken.
