Be a Winemaker! Bella Blending Trials

Harvest season is upon us and there is much work to be done. We need your help! Each session is a two hour educational wine experience led by Jay Raffaldini in the Barrel Room! Last year's trials yielded the 2007 Bella Misto and 2007 SPQR. Both wines went on to win gold medals at the Lodi International Wine Competition in Lodi California! Our reds are ready for blending and we need you to help us determine the blend for the 2008 Raffaldini Bella Misto. Each blend you create will be carefully analyzed, sampled and considered by our winery staff. Due to the strong demand we have for this event, reservations are required as well as prompt attendance. Wake Forest vs. ECU Men's Basketball

The Greensboro Coliseum will host the Wake Forest Demon Deacons vs. East Carolina Pirates in men’s college basketball action on Sunday, November 15th at 2:00 pm. Tickets will go on sale Monday, September 21st at 10:00 am at www.ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000 or at the Greensboro Coliseum box office. Wake Forest is coming off a 2008-09 season that saw the Demon Deacons go 24-7 overall, ascend to the No. 1 national ranking and finish second in the ACC. Led by third-year head coach Dino Gaudio, the Deacons return eight letterwinners and three starters off last year’s squad. Preseason All-American and Wooden Award candidate Al-Farouq Aminu headlines the list of Deacon returnees. Aminu, a sophomore forward, is Wake’s leading returning scorer and rebounder. The Pirates return nine lettermen from last year's squad that recorded the program's best Conference USA finish in its eight-year membership. Under the guidance of third-year coach Mack McCarthy, the Pirates welcome back four starters led by juniors Jamar Abrams and Brock Young. Young, who ranked second in the nation in assists per game, is the Pirates' leading returning scorer. The November 15th clash will be the first of two regular season appearances for both Wake Forest and East Carolina at Greensboro Coliseum. ECU will play UNC Greensboro on November 28 and Wake Forest returns to take on the Spartans on December 28.

The Eden Preservation Society will hold its Annual Holiday Bake Sale this year at Pace-Stone, 663 Washington Street in Eden, from 2:00 until 5:00, during the Holiday Open House in Olde Leaksville Shopping District.
