Celebrate Spring With Those Who Protect And Serve Us
GREENSBORO, North Carolina –Police officers give of themselves effortlessly each time they put their uniforms on. Their work goes beyond the badge. The Gate City Chapter of North State Law Enforcement Officers Association will honor many of their fellow law enforcement officers by hosting their first Spring Fling Celebration event on April 21, 2018.
The Spring Fling Celebration will have an award ceremony, music, food, vending and more. This year’s speaker is Sylvester Daughtry. He served the Greensboro Police Department for 29 years and was the first African American Police Chief in Greensboro. Daughtry has also served as Executive Director of the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Gate City Chapter Educational Scholarship Fund. Each year the fund assists students who major in Criminal Justice or a related field be able to afford their collegiate education. The event will be held at Dynacon Event Center located at 2100 East Wendover Avenue in Greensboro, NC. Doors will open at 6pm.
Chapter President Lance Jones, Sr. is hosting this event to celebrate a renewed vision that he hopes that the community will be able to develop as they come and celebrate the officers who have a mission to protect and serve the community.
