Southern Home & Kitchen has been offering cooking classes since opening in 2013 as a way to cultivate community and to enhance the store experience through learning and eating. The store partners with local chefs to create a unique and intimate experience for participants who can select from a wide range of classes, including knife skills, cocktail classes, and thematic dinners. About a third of the classes are hands-on experiences, and all classes allow participants front row seats to the cooking action. Participants enjoy a meal together, hear stories from the chef, sip on wine during dinner classes, and take home recipes and new tricks of the trade. Southern Home & Kitchen hopes to foster a love of gathering around the dinner table through each cooking class experience.
