Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership Debuts Spirits of Summer on Sat., June 2
Winston-Salem, NC (May 15, 2018) – Spirits of Summer, a new event in downtown Winston-Salem, will take place on Saturday, June 2, from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on 4th Street. The inaugural event is presented by Texas Pete and produced by the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership.

The one-day festival takes place in the streets of Downtown Winston-Salem and features the best wines, beers, music and local restaurants in the region. North Carolina wineries will be offering tastings and purchase of their harvest. Beer lovers also can also find their niche at the festival as several North Carolina craft breweries will be on-site offering tastings and purchases of their brews. Local Winston-Salem restaurants will also be on-site cooking up their best menu items in the Restaurant Pavilion for festival visitors to purchase and enjoy. Live music will be performed throughout the day on the big stage in front of Foothills Brewing. Local chefs will also be performing chef demonstrations while educating about food and wine and beer pairings throughout the day at the Lowes Foods Demo Tent.
Following the festival, an after party will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in front of Foothills Brewing, located at 638 West 4th Street. The party will feature music from Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band.
“Spirits of Summer offers visitors to downtown a fun and festive experience that highlights the North Carolina wine and beer industry, along with showcasing many of Winston-Salem’s great restaurants,” said Jason Thiel, president of the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership. “We are grateful to Texas Pete for their support of this new event.”
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 the day of the event. The ticket cost includes a commemorative glass and limited sample tastings of wine and beer. Beer and wine will also be sold by the glass, bottle or case, and food can be purchased separately from participating restaurants.
