The NC Music Hall of Fame has announced that the following artists will be inducted on Oct. 3: Randy Travis, Ben E. King, Earl Scruggs, James Taylor, George Clinton and Roberta Flack. Several nonliving artists, including Wilbert Harrison, Clyde McPhatter, Kate Smith, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Max Roach, the Five Royales, Nina Simone and Johnny Bristol, will also be inducted.

Dave Fox plays noontime at Center City Park in Greensboro on Wednesday.

The Dotmatrix Project presents Embarrassing Fruits and Come Hell or High Water at the Green Burro in Greensboro on Thursday.

The Raving Knaves, Switchblade 85 and Silver Bullet play the Blind Tiger in Greensboro on Thursday. Saturday finds the Raving Knaves with the Leeves at the Flatiron, and Silver Bullet anchoring the Westerwood Tavern. A Light Divided, Gillotine, Grommet, KEG and Cavity Creeps rock the Soundvent in Thomasville on Friday.

Part Bear from Athens, Ga. appears with Cakes of Light and Bolmongani at the Werehouse in Winston-Salem on Friday. Part Bear treks eastward through the Triad, and appears at the Green Bean in Greensboro with Pinche Gringo and Puddin Tang the following night.

Dirty, Dirty Jazz plays every Friday and Saturday at Avenue, at the corner of Elm and Market streets in downtown Greensboro.

Peregrine and Systems Barren appear at 1317 Grove St. in Greensboro on Friday. Scott Pryor & the Faintest Lights and Joshua Shelton perform a free concert for homecoming on the campus of Guilford College on Friday. The Alley Rabbits continued the homecoming festivities on Saturday. Bruce Piephoff appears at Lindley Park Filling Station in Greensboro on Friday and Saturday.

Wafer Thin and Splice Factor share billing at Elliott’s Revue in Winston-Salem on Saturday.

The Tate Street Festival showcases House of Fools, the Othermothers, Now You See Them, Eating the Invaders, the Brand New Life, the Firelight Saga and Kristen Leigh in Greensboro on Saturday. Darius Rucker serenades the Carolina Theatre in Greensboro on Saturday. Ahleuchatistas, Eszett, Pilots and We Rock Collective subvert CFBG’s.

The Family Eversole appears with David Via and Greensky Bluegrass at the Blandwood Mansion in Greensboro on Sunday, Sept. 27.
