Hyperbole alert: Get yourself to the Garage tonight to see the absurdly awesome Brooklyn Americana band Yarn tonight. Don’t ask questions.

On Thursday, jam with the Mantras at Alive After Five in downtown Winstonsalem, then get on over to see the great Ohio jamgrass outfit the Lewis Brothers Band at the Blind Tiger.

Joplin-voiced soulstress Laura Reed has had her baby and is back on the road, where she’ll be appearing at he Blind Tiger Friday with ATl funksters the Yonrico Scott Band and locals Now You See Them. Boogie with Rose’s Pawn Shop and the Rockridge Brothers Band at the Garage, or step outside and see jazz vocalist Rhonda Thomas perform at Downtown Jazz in Winstonsalem. In Greensboro, the Five L’s, Bob, 100 Yorktown and Death Proof rock out at Greene Street Club.

Check out the Deluge’s CD release party this saturday with special guests Jackass Flats at the Blind Tiger. Mic Harrison & the High Score, Kenny Roby and Megan Jean get rootsy at the Garage, while cover masters the Alison King Band plays Summer On Trade and Love Craft, Sugar High Gang and Cakes of Light play the Wherehouse. The Old One-Twos have a CD release party of their own coming up, but they’ll tune up for it with Dylan Gilbert at the Green Bean. Altcountry band American Gun hits the rebooted Club Orion, while the real Hats and Boots get Matt Stillwell at Johnny & Junes and the Chris Lane Band at Arizona Pete’s. Over at Greene Street, J. Timber brings guest Joey Barnes of Daughtry fame, along with support from Caitlin Watkins and the Energy.

Save it for sunday, as Tim Betts hosts his birthday bash with NOlA legend CJ Chenier & the Red Hot Louisiana Band at the Blind Tiger. For something a little more hardcore, check out To Speak of Wolves with My Epic, Embracing Goodbye, Fear the United and the Payne Road Tragedy at Greene Street Club.

On Tuesday, On Tuesday, WUAG presents Future Islands with guests eAR PWR and locals Mutant league at Club Artistika. some may remember Future Islands as the Greenville synth-rockers Art lord & The self Portraits, and their new album held down the top spot on WUAG for two weeks. There’s very special local band night at the Blind Tiger with no cover featuring Future Ghosts, Museum Mouth and Chapel Hill darlings I Was Totally Destroying It.
