With a light concert schedule this week, it’s not a bad time to nurse the post-Halloween hangover. If it’s a case of the mid-week blues you have, the funky Lubriphonic and Doby have the cure at the Blind Tiger.
There’s more jazzy rock at the Blind Tiger on Thursday with Dirk Quinn Band and Five Gallon Groove, and the likeminded Badderlocks are at Elliot’s Revue.
Fellas, after what went down last week, please leave the tool at home for the N Club’s Edwin McCain show. Ladies, bring the tool because he’s got the tickets. Don’t want to risk getting shot? The sweet-singing Cyndi Harvell hits the Green Bean.
On Friday, Jody Lee Petty, Corey Hunt, Katherine Alford, the Mason Lovette Band and Ross Coppley round out the country showcase at Greene Street Club. The Fiddle & Bow Society present Sarah McQuaid in Winston-Salem, and your pizza comes with a side of Wyndy Trail Travelers at Mellow Mushroom. Snüzz and Eddie Walker are the Numbers, and they’re playing the Blind Tiger with Lake Isle and Matty Sheets & the Blockheads. Jam rockers Fur Lined Volcanoes are back and will play their CD release show with special guests Red River at the Garage. Tony Low & the Lowbots host their own CD release at the Green Bean, and Battle Not With Monsters hand out life lessons at Elliot’s Revue.
With only a few shows around town on Saturday, why not take a chance on Illicitizen at the Flatiron? Kashmir plays Zep covers at the Blind Tiger, but don’t fill up before the main course of Get the Led Out next week. Wafer Thin, Stratocruiser and Kenny Howes provide your rock fix at the Garage, or for something a little more out there, try Triscale at Elliot’s Revue.
Electro-pop darlings Runner Runner invade Greene Street Club on Sunday with, 2AM Club, Runaway City and Kitchen Sink Fiasco, or you may choose the American Rock Project at the Flatiron.
Someone with Platinum Nightlife LIKES TO FACEBOOK LIKE THIS WITHOUT ACTUALLY TELLING YOU THAT FASTER PUSSYCAT WILL PLAY TUESDAY NIGHT. If you go, hope that you don’t find up on that dude’s mass text list. Not that you need a cause, Which One? benefits the American Cancer Society at the Garage.
