Today in Center City Park, the excellent acoustic pop trio Small Town Gossip rule your Tunes at Noon. Is it wrong to say that the Crossfade show tonight at the Blind Tiger might actually be worth your dollar? They were let go by Columbia and after a few years on the brink, they might actually have something to say in their music. They’ll be joined by New Age of Radio and Pop Evil.

On Thursday, sweet songwriters Bess Rogers and Rachel Platten tag team at the Green Bean, and Cajun rockers Cowboy Mouth let it go at the Blind Tiger with Ingrim Hill.

Like I mentioned last week, the Clubhouse is blowing up lately. This week they’re bringing Triangle MCs Thee Tom Hardy and Big Remo with Poe Mack, Rapsody and Don DiGiorgio. In the Grass Pistols’ Mother Russia, Elliott’s Revue you! Greensboro’s Hephystus will celebrate the release of their new CD Burn the Page Friday night at Greene Street with Vanisher, Intertwined and Madrone. The Old One-Two throw the psychedelic blues haymaker at CFBG, and there’s post-grunge with Early Morning Warning, the Radio Reds and the Speakers at the Somewhere Else Tavern. Shoegazers Lake Isle hit up Krankies with a bill that currently incomplete, while Kelley & the Cowboys help Metal Rebel co-founder Dave Quick tune up at the Garage, and the Five L’s play it heavy at the Blind Tiger.

On Saturday, Paranoia Dance Party come from Tampa, Fla. to play CFBG with Corporate Fandango, Squirt Gun Warriors, 8-Break and Dumpster. The Garage hosts a pair of alt-country songwriters in Lacy Green and Michelle Parish, and Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band funk up Blue Bourbon Jacks. Electric Soul Pandemic, Wax Planet and Matter of Fact lay down the jams at the Blind Tiger, and the weekend of hip-hop continues at Glenwood Coffee and Books with N’Danger Species, Illpo, Veteran Assassins, MC Cataclysm, Amaris and Cuff Links, and there’s acoustic music by Cornelius Lewis, Jordan Dupree and William Brown at the Sweet Shop.

“A Prairie Home Companion”-approved string band Big Medicine plays the Reynolda House at Wake Forest on Sunday, and the psychedelic Duende Mountain Duo hits the Blind Tiger with the Ends and fusionists Actual Proof. Is it the Summer Solstice already? Bust out the fairy wings and celebrate it with Crystal Bright & the Silver Hands and the Brand New Life at the Greensboro Arboretum.
