Phuzz Phest continues at Krankies on Thursday with Estrangers, Casual Curious, Aaron Bachelder, Jews & Catholics and Brian Daub. Revolution Mill join folk-pop chanteuse Jessica Long at the Blind Tiger, while Modern Robot scores The Hunchback of Notre Dame at the Green Bean. At Ziggy’s, Paul Thorn performs with Rayland Baxter.
Revolution Mill bring their “Lady Marmalade” cover to the Green Bean on Friday with Vestibules and Jib Jab Jones & the Indigo Circus. You might remember Chris Thomas King from such films as Ray and Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou?, and he’s playing the Clubhouse; YES! Weekly editor Brian Clarey opens with a book reading accompanied by Tim Betts. There’s power metal with Circle II Circle, featuring Zach Stevens of Savatage at Greene Street Club, and jam power with Perpetual Groove at the Blind Tiger. It’s Southern style with Sunday Valley and Dave Willis & Brent Buckner at the Garage, while Phuzz Phest marches on with Lovecraft, the Bayonets, the Salts, Economy, the Bo-Stevens and White Rifles at Krankies.
Folk singer Daniel Levi Goans releases his debut album BrotherStranger at The Blind Tiger on Saturday. Donna the Buffalo gear up for Shakori on Saturday with the Roy Jay Band at Ziggy’s. You might remember Matt Boswell from such anti-gay diatribes as the Reidsville Family Fun Day, and he’s at Johnny & Junes. Fight cancer with Jerry Chapman, Jamie Carroll, the Darnell Woodies and Big Daddy Mojo at the Garage. It’s spacey at the Green Bean with Heralding, Matt Northrup and knives of spain. Benj-o-matic plays the new series in Center City Park, and Phuzz Phest wraps up with Honey Rider, Miss Eaves and Satin Bloom at Elliott’s Revue.
Ziggy’s is kind of awesome on Sunday, with Los Lonely Boys with the Kicks playing an early show and Passafire and Truth ‘N Rights later.
