The interminable run of bluegrass trio Warren, Bodle & Allen marches on today at Center City Park, while later at the Blind Tiger, the Lauren Light Band play country pop with a mean streak.

On Thursday, the semi-legendary Robert Cray plays hot licks at Ziggy’s with Big Ron Hunter in support. Asheville anti-folk songwriter Ten Cent Poetry plays the Green Bean with Golden Age and Steve Everett at the Green Bean. Beach music won’t go away, as noted by Band of Oz in uptown High Point.

Fridays are for dancing, and few band make it easier than progressive roots quartet Scythian, who play the Blind Tiger. Lil P of the Painted Skulls stays based for life with Laser Rays and Laura Boswell at the Green Bean, while Jahman Brahman beef with Domino Effect at the Flatiron. The Wicked Divas bring Broadway to the White Oak Amphitheatre, and Sister Hazel do it “All For You” with Matthew Mayfield at Ziggy’s. Where’s Israel Darling these days? Fellow Engine Room lablemates Lowry hit the Garage with Monarchs and Daniel Levi Goans. A Series of Fortunate Events continues in Center City Park with Bryan “Songbear” Smith and Andrea Reese.

Two of the finest NC Americana bands play the Garage on Saturday when Red June and the Honeycutters hook up for a night of blissful twang. It’s a little more rough around the edges at the Blind Tiger with American Aquarium with Leroy Powell, or with bluesman Richard Johnston and Hill Country Blues at the Clubhouse. Jonathan Scales Fourchestra play island jazz at the Green Bean with Cody W. and Matty Sheets & the Blockheads at the Green Bean. On the beer circuit, Big Daddy Love play at Blue Bourbon Jack’s and Electric Sould Pandemic are at Foothills.

Lowry finish up their stay in town at the Green Bean on Sunday with Grand Ole Uproar and Second Hand Corduroy, while Imperial Blend are at Club Orion. At Ziggy’s, the Meditations are jammin’ with Da Stateside Lion Reggae Band.

How many times do Big Sean and Cyhi Da Prince have to play the clubs here before people take notice. Their Greene Street Club gig Tuesday might be the last of these small shows. At the Blind Tiger, Wow and Flutter Records bring EAR PWR, Three-Brained Robot, Matt Northrup, Foot Village and Burn Door Door Door.
