Forsyth Court Holiday Retirement Fall Festival and Halloween SafeHouse

“Winston-Salem, N.C. – With Labor Day behind us, what better way to kick off the fall season than to get out and attend a family fall festival? The Senior Serving Seniors & Sunshine Committee at Forsyth Court Holiday Retirement will have events planned for the entire month of October. Events include the Fall Festival and a Halloween Safe House. All designed to get everyone out and connecting with each other while supporting our local farms and communities.

Come celebrate the Harvest Season and join us for some good old-fashioned fun at our annual Fall Festival on Thursday October 20, 2016 from 10 am – 2 pm! This popular family-friendly event includes Arts and Crafts, live music by Tony Drake, Captain Jims Magic, Tractor Displays, delicious barbecue, Specialty Grilling items provided by from Lowes Foods, a full Farmers Market with fresh produce, Wake Forest Farmers Food Share Program, local honey, apples and cider, pumpkins, pumpkin carving and a pink pumpkin parade in support of Susan B. Komen Foundation, all in an effort to support our larger goal of engaging the public and our community.

Our 2016 Halloween Trick or Treat Safe House will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 2 pm – 5 pm. Our Halloween tradition known as Safe House provides an opportunity for the children of our community to Trick or Treat in a safe not too scary or intimidating environment . Our residents take advantage of the occasion to devote some of their energies toward community service, as well as have some fun. It is often difficult to tell who has more fun: the participants or our residents! Stop by for a warm cup of hot chocolate while enjoying music, our pirate theme, games and activities, fresh popcorn, and a fun Doggie Costume Parade and of course lots of local businesses doling out tons of candy. Volunteers from Wake Forest Spark Program will be here to meet any trick or treaters in costume. Let’s be safe and have fun and warm the heart of a senior citizen!
