The week’s installment of Found Objects finds the holiday season in full swing with an array of Christmas-themed events taking place in the Piedmont Triad. The Greensboro Ballet presents its 30 th anniversary edition of Tchaikovsky’s magical Christmas ballet, The Nutcracker, Dec. 10-12 at the Carolina Theatre in downtown Greensboro. There’s nothing quite like the Tanglewood Festival of Lights to get you in the holiday spirit. One of the largest holiday light shows in the Southeast, the Festival of Lights runs through Jan. 2.
For art lovers interested in creating their own Christmas tree ornaments, Greensboro Center for Visual Arts presents “Photo-Fused Ornaments,” at GlasTile, Inc., on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants in the one-day crafts class learn how to create their own holiday ornaments using a process known as “photo fusing.” Tickets are $50 for members and $65 for non-members.
Artworks Gallery in Winston-Salem presents the Holiday Exhibit, featuring art works from all the members of the artist co-op, in a variety of mediums from paintings to drawings, prints, photography and sculpture. The exhibit runs through Dec. 31.
The Community Arts CafÃ© presents Cosmic Cow Society Group Show in its Underground Theatre Gallery through Dec. 31.
