GSO City Market: “Present” – Second in Series this Friday 6-9pm on West Lewis Street in Downtown Greensboro
Greensboro, NC (June 11, 2018): This Friday, the third 2018 GSO City Market kicks off at 6pm and runs till 10pm on West Lewis Street in the South End of downtown. This market, themed “Future” in the series “Past, Present, and Future” will celebrate some visions for Greensboro’s initiatives through UNCG’s Greensboro Project Art Space and Community Arts Collaborative alongside artisan food producers, handcrafted projects, locally produced clothing, several types of art, and more!
This market will feature the Gate City Songwriters Showcase with seven creative songwriters sharing their unique at GPS beginning at 6pm. Que House food truck will be sharing great food outside on the corner of West Lewis and Barnhardt St.
Come and sample what local food The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market will have available. You’ll be delightfully surprised by the deliciousness of some of the great local foods that are created right in your backyard.
An experiment exploring sound at GPS will showcase an investigation of the past by Seth Ellis when trying to imagine the sound of every day that the activities in Greensboro’s rich history would describe. Seth Ellis is a Greensboro native artist and designer, that has gone to showcase his work around the world telling stories about the material culture and everyday life of specific areas. While at the end of West Lewis St. take a tour and meet some makers at the Forge Makerspace to see what talent is housed under one collaborative roof.

Proceeds from the June City market will benefit recipients of the Fresh Food Access Program at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market for those who are food insecure by providing “Double Up” SNAP /EBT (food stamp) benefits for recipients to purchase fresh, healthy nourishing food from the Market. The Market is open year round on Saturdays and seasonally on Wednesday April to December with fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, eggs, meats, honey, prepared foods and artisan goods connecting farmers, food and friends from a 100-mile origin guaranteeing patrons are shopping direct from the grower and maker.
