HIGH POINT CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU PARTNERS WITH UPTOWNE HIGH POINT AND MOVES PRIME TIME ON MAIN EVENTS TO FIRST FRIDAYS
HIGH POINT, N.C., Apr. 18, 2018 – The High Point Convention and Visitors Bureau (HPCVB) is going to move its Last Tuesday Prime Time on Main events to take place on the first Friday of every month to align with Uptowne High Point’s First Friday events. They will now be called First Friday Prime Time on Main events. Second Saturday events will stay the same.
First Friday Prime Time on Main events will still be themed and continue to offer a social gathering and network type atmosphere. A complete 2018 schedule for the Prime Time on Main events is listed below. Saturday event hours vary and Friday events are held 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“The only thing changing is the day of the week so we can be part of the First Friday events in Uptowne,” says Nancy Bowman, director of sales and marketing at the HPCVB. “It will be nice to offer an ‘open house’ atmosphere while sharing other opportunities, creating an overall visitor-friendly experience.”
A revised schedule of events is listed below for the remainder of 2018.
May 4 (First Friday) National Beer Month – Beer tastings from local craft breweries.
May 12 (Second Saturday) National Pet Week – Information will be on hand from local pet stores and veterinary offices.
June 2 (First Friday strays from 1st due to Summer Stroll)
Uptowne Summer Stroll – Games, kid’s activities and refreshments offered.
June 9 (Second Saturday) Showcase of Summer Activities – Brochures and coupons will be available to pick up.
July 6 (First Friday) Patriot Dog Costume Contest – A costume contest with prizes to the best dressed. Refreshments offered.
July 14 (Second Saturday) Collector Car Day – Partnering with “Let’s Talk Cars” to showcase classics in the parking lot.
August 3 (First Friday) National Hot Fudge Sundae Day – Complimentary sundaes for the community with all the toppings.
August 11 (Second Saturday) National Back to School Month – School supply giveaways and activities.
September 7 (First Friday) Kick off to the John Coltrane International Jazz and Blues Festival – Includes drawing for two complimentary general admission tickets to festival.
September 8 (Second Saturday) Popcorn Day – Complimentary popcorn offered.
October 5 (First Friday) Life at Willow Creek Affair – High Point residents are invited to a complimentary evening of music, hors d’oeuvres, wine & beer.
October 13 (Second Saturday) Halloween Doggie Costume Contest – A costume contest with prizes to the best dressed. Refreshments offered.
November 2 (First Friday) Celebrate National Favorite Jersey Day – wear your favorite jersey and get give aways and/or discounts.
November 10 (Second Saturday) Thanksgiving Tablescape – Partnering with Design Access to feature table settings.
December 1 (strays from second Saturday to partner with Uptowne Assn.) Uptowne Holiday Stroll – Petting zoo and kids activities.
