LIVE! From the ADP Presents: Josh King and Caleb Caudle
Josh King and Caleb Caudle have known each other through various bands in North Carolina, but their upcoming shows this weekend will only be the second time they have played with each other. Not counting, of course, when they played at the office of YES! Weekly for our LIVE! From the ADP special on Aug. 15.
King and Caudle took turns playing their own song for the session. King played the song “Waiting For The Sun” off “Into The Blue,” and Caudle played “New York City In The Rain” which is off his album he released earlier this year “Crushed Coins.” King and Caudle closed out their performance with a tribute to Leadbelly’s song “Cottonfields” together.
King is releasing his solo album “Into The Blue” with his group Josh King & THEM on Aug. 17 at the Blind Tiger in Greensboro. Caudle and Carri Smithey, are set to open for the release party. King said the “Into The Blue” release party is an “ode” to his former bandmates and everyone he has played with for the last 20 years.
Caudle and King are also heading to The Pinhook in Durham on Aug. 16 and Boone Saloon in Boone on Aug. 18 to promote “Into The Blue.” They said people can expect to see “a lot of hair” when they play together tonight and this weekend.
