Christine Ravel — business owner

When this week’s Page Three model, Christine Ravel, was just 9 years old, she took sewing lessons from a woman named Gail Pendry in Danville, Va. “She taught the sewing class from her house just like I do,” Christine says. “That’s what gave me the idea.” Now she has her own growing concern, Lot Sew Fun, a sewing class she teaches out of her Greensboro home. “A lot of people don’t know how to sew,” she says. “People don’t realize how much money they’d save, especially with alterations. It takes five minutes to hem a pair of pants.” The kids want to learn how to make doll clothes, she says, and adults these days are interested in window treatments and things for the home. But her students also make quilts, iPhone cases, pillows and laptop bags. “Whatever aspect they want to learn,” she says. “I can teach.” For more about her business and her work, including the dress she’s wearing here, check out her website at
