Tammy Vaughan Wray business owner, stylist, dog rescuer

Although hairdresser Tammy Vaughan Wray is currently in a transitional period with her business, Color & Kutz, she still manages to juggle three jobs flawlessly; her two main endeavors focus on making people look good and educating other hairdressers to make people look good. Wray, a Piedmont Triad native, is currently running Kutz & Color out of A Beauty Parlor in Jamestown and has managed to retain her clientele. A graduate of GTCC’s beauty school, Wray has identified coloring as her passion. “I use All Nutrient,” she says. “It’s a certifiably organic hair color.” Aside from her business, Wray instructs continuing education classes for hairdressers at Carolina Beauty Supply. “I tell my students that you can’t pay for the amount of advertising you can get from doing someone’s hair.” Wray also adds that she “rescues” in her spare time. She’s a former dog breeder currently acting as a dog rescuer to mostly yorkies, poodles and maltese. “I have a very big heart,” Wray says with a laugh.
