Cindy Argiento — author, columnist

Life’s stresses can be daunting but author and columnist Cindy Argiento has just the remedy. Last spring, Argiento released her collection of 50 humor columns aptly titled Deal With Life’s Stresses With “A Little Humor.” The columns found within her book, including “Answer the Phone” which appeared in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Family Matters, were featured in North Carolina publications High Point Enterprise, Triangle Diversity and Xtra Magazine and California publication Foothills Paper. “I write about family… current trends,” Argiento says. “Sometimes my husband opens his mouth and drops a present in my hand!” Besides her humor columns, Argiento has kept busy with writing vignettes that spoof famous characters throughout history and a children’s book, Doris in Dreamland, about a 10-year-old girl dealing with sex abuse. “I just want to let [kids] know it’s not their fault and they’re not the only ones,” Argieto says. In the meantime, she’s still dishing out her tested advice: “You can let the little nonsense stuff get to you, or you [can] laugh it off.” For more information, visit
