Mauekel Dwayne Singletary Being Held in Forsyth County DC Under a $150,000.00 Secured Bond

At approximately 7:44 p.m. on Nov. 25, 2017, four subjects entered the Subway restaurant located at 329 Jonestown Road. The subjects proceeded to rob the business while at least two of the suspects brandished firearms. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of currency from the store and three cellular phones from customers of the business before fleeing the area in a passenger car.

No employee or patron of the business was injured during the robbery.

At approximately 11:17 p.m. on Nov. 29, 2017, two subjects brandishing firearms entered the Kristy’s Food Mart located at 2609 N. Liberty Street. An employee of the business was held at gunpoint behind the counter, while the suspects took an undisclosed amount of currency and merchandise from the store. The employee was not injured and the suspects fled the business on foot.

These incidents have been under investigation by detectives in the Winston-Salem Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. On Thurs., Nov. 30, 2017, authorities made two arrests in connection to these investigations. Authorities have charged two brothers with the robbery of the Kristy’s Food Mart and the Subway.

Nineteen year old Richard Isaiah Dukes is being held in the Forsyth County Detention Center under a $125,000.00 secured bond. Richard Dukes is charged with two counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.

Eighteen year old Josiah Alexander Dukes is also being held in the Forsyth County Detention Center under a $125,000.00 secured bond. Josiah Dukes is charged with two counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.

Detectives with the Winston-Salem Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division have continued to investigate multiple armed robberies that are thought to have been committed by an organized group of perpetrators. The investigation has led to additional arrests in the November 25, 2017 Subway robbery.

Twenty-year-old Mauekel Dwayne Singletary is being held in the Forsyth County Detention Center under a $150,000.00 secured bond. Mauekel Dwayne Singletary is charged with Armed Robbery of the Subway. Mauekel Dwayne Singletary is also charged with a separate count of Armed Robbery related to the November 24, 2017 robbery of the Quality Mart located at 4995 Country Club Road. Eighteen-year-old Jeremiah Morris Smith is being held at the Forsyth County Detention Center under a $75,000.00 secured bond. Jeremiah Morris Smith is charged with Armed Robbery of the Subway.
