If you’re looking for a comedy with some facts sprinkled in, then don’t miss Theatre Alliance’s edgy and slightly dark comedy Assassins. Playing Thursday through April 3, the play tells the tales of those throughout history who have attempted to murder the president, giving, of course, a few guilty laughs along the way.

With several youth productions going on, this weekend is perfect for taking the kids to the theatre. On its kids stage, High Point Community Theatre presents Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Friday at the High Point YWCA. And Friday through Sunday, Community Theatre of Greensboro presents its youth performance Hansel & Gretel at the Broach Theatre.

Also on Friday, Twin City Stage presents Children of Eden, a joyous and inspirational musical loosely based on the book of Genesis. The play, examining the lives of Adam, Eve, Noah and the Father, gives a relatable, humorous, and yet heartfelt look into the typical and centuries-old conflicts between parents and their children. Play runs Friday through Sunday, March 31, April 3, 7-10.

Melissa Pihos, a candidate for an MFA in choreography from UNCG will present her multimedia MFA thesis concert PIHOS: A Moving Biography Friday and Saturday in the UNCG Dance Theater. An All-American player at Indiana University and a veteran of WWII, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2001. Melissa studied her father’s life for the last four years in order to now tell his story through video and dance.
