Thursday through Sunday, Theatre Alliance presents Pump Boys and Dinettes, a musical written by a performance group of the same name that tells the story of four men who work at a gas station and two waitresses who work at the Double Cupp Diner in North Carolina. The play unfolds to the tunes of guitars, bass, piano and kitchen utensils.
Friday, blues musician Seth Walker appears at Triad Stage as part of Eastern Music Festival-fringe.
Friday-Sunday and Aug. 5-7, Stained Glass Playhouse continues to mark its 30th anniversary with The Sound of Music.
Registration is now open for School of Greensboro Ballet, third floor of Greensboro Cultural Center. Classes include children’s dance for ages 3-6, classic ballet for ages 7-adult, Jazz for ages 9 and up, and pointe. Classes run Aug. 29-May 19.
Saturday is Greensboro Ballet and Cheerwine’s first-ever “Think You Can Dance?” competition at Greensboro Cultural Center. The competition to find Greensboro’s best dancer or dance group includes solos, duets, trios and group dances in categories: jazz, lyrical, ballet, contemporary, hip hop, tap, clogging, ballroom and break dancing.
