Procter & Gamble brings relief to residents affected by tornado
PROCTER & GAMBLE BRINGS RELIEF TO RESIDENTS AFFECTED BY RECENT TORNADO WITH P&G PRODUCT KITS AND TIDE LOADS OF HOPE LAUNDRY SERVICES
Through product kits and Tide Loads of Hope Laundry Services, Procter & Gamble is providing relief to Greensboro families, individuals and first responders in need of personal care items, cleaning products or laundry services in the wake of the recent tornado and severe weather.
The Tide Loads of Hope Mobile Laundry Unit has been deployed to support relief and recovery efforts in the wake of the recent tornado. The Tide Loads of Hope mobile laundry vehicle will begin services in Greensboro starting on April 22 providing free full-service laundry to residents affected by the severe weather. Residents can bring clothes (up to two loads per household) to be washed, dried and folded free of charge for those directly impacted by the severe weather. All washable clothing types can be accepted with the exception of heavy bedding.
P&G is working closely in partnership with Matthew 25: Ministries to provide P&G product donations by going into the neighborhoods of affected residents in the Greensboro area. The P&G product kits contain products from brands such as Always, Bounty, Crest, Charmin, Dawn, Febreze, Ivory, Gillette, Mr. Clean, Olay, Old Spice, Oral-B, Pampers, Pantene, Secret, Swiffer, Tampax, Tide, and Venus.
P&G has a history of giving back to the communities where we live and work, and we want to provide everyday essentials to those who need it most to help bring a sense of normalcy in this time of need. These services are free and available to people affected by the disaster and the volunteers who are helping to respond. The National Weather Service confirmed on Monday that a tornado sustaining 135 mph winds barreled through Greensboro last Sunday, leaving thousands without power and canceling classes in the local school system. One person was killed in the North Carolina storm, in addition to three others who died in other parts of the country as a result of this system.
Beginning April 23, the team will expand operating hours to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or until 100 loads are reached. The team will also be taking supplies directly out into the affected areas.
The Tide Loads of Hope mobile laundry unit will be located at Evangel Word Ministries (2207 E Cone Blvd # A in Greensboro).
