Sedgefield County Club Runner-Ups at Competition Dining



A special congratulations is in order to Chef James Patterson and his team at Sedgefield Country Club for making it to the Championship Finale at the Got To Be NC Competition Dining Battle of Champions on Nov. 19.

After winning the Greensboro series this past summer, Patterson and his “Culinary Crushers” team, Tim Alston and Issac Spencer, sailed past two other champs from Wilmington and the Winston-Salem winner, Sam Ratchford from Boone.

In the end, it was Team Mirepoix and Franz Prost of The Peak City Grill who took the ultimate Black Chef’s Coat and the top state championship prize. The final battle was “Battle Thanksgiving” with featured ingredients Joyce Farms Heritage Black Turkey, High Rock Farms Chestnut and Chestnut Flour, NC Honey and a host of other locally sourced ingredients.
