Food news breaks this week with an announcement from Hungry Howie’s Pizza will be collecting for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and delivering its pizzas in pink boxes. And the Boy Scouts will be selling new and improved popcorn this year, made with canola oil.

On Wednesday, Winston-Salembased Texas Pete’s Hot Sauce has an event with Moe’s Southwest Grill on Wednesday at the Four Seasons Town Center in Greensboro to promote three new Buffalo-style chicken entrees. Also on Wednesday, Vintage 301 hosts an Oskar Blues beer dinner at 7 p.m. — four courses for $40. On Thursday, visit Josephine’s in Greensboro for a weekly wine tasting. Also, Winston-Salem’s Chelsee’s Coffee hosts Girls on Grapes from 7-9 p.m. According to the e-mail, “No kids, husbands/boyfriends or stress allowed.”

On Friday, check out the Twin City Food Fight, a culinary competition pitting Chef Jeff Bacon of Triad Community Kitchen against Chef Charles Kurtz of the Piedmont Club. Also on Friday, Frozato Frozen Yogurt, a self-service yogurt shop, opens on Pisgah Church Road in Greensboro and celebrates all weekend long.

Also on Saturday, Taste Yogurt Bar in Greensboro is giving customers their first five ounces of yogurt free from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. And Total Wine & More holds a Tasting Extravaganza with full-bodied reds and whites along with fall and pumpkin beers.

Sunday is the open house at the Goat Lady Dairy in Climax, while the Farm Fest takes place just two miles down the road at Rising Meadow Farm. I’d wear boots if I were you.

Then, on Tuesday, Krankies Farmers Market holds Try Something New Day, where they’ll be pushing kohlrabi, turnips and eggplant, among other delicacies.
