Big news on the fast-food front, with a Bojangles opening at UNCG’s Jefferson Suites residence hall after a student survey revealed that it was, indeed, Bo Time. And Firehouse Subs opens a location at the Hanes Mall food court in Winston-Salem. And Burger King has tweaked its kids meal menu, highlighting healthier choices and bringing back that awesome cardboard crown. And just as the McRib surfaces in a national McDonald’s campaign, news surfaces that the pork-like sandwich contains some of the same ingredients as a yoga mat.

And if you miss the rustic, artisan loaves that came from Simple Kneads in Greensboro’s Elm Street alleyway, rejoice in the fact that another breadmaker, Loaf Bakery, will be coming to the space by Dec. 2.

On Thursday, The Piedmont Environmental Alliance, in collaboration with the Temple Emanuel Environmental Movement and the Foothills Group of the Sierra Club, holds its annual meeting and silent auction from 6-9 p.m. at Temple Emanuel in Winston-Salem. It features food from Beta Verde and drink from Foothills Brewing and Café Roche Espresso Bar, as well as awards for Green Business lf the Year and Volunteer of the Year. All weekend long, Total Wine & More will be tasting Thanksgiving wines at6 all three Triad locations. And the Fresh Market will hold a similar event at its Greensboro and Winston-Salem stores.

On Saturday, the Grove Winery takes introduces its wine and to a room filled with sexual tension at its singles tasting, held at the Gibsonville winery at 4 p.m. And Whole Foods in Winston-Salem holds its Taste of Thanksgiving over another weekend, with samples of all the store’s holiday wares starting at 11 a.m.

On Tuesday, Table 16 in downtown Greensboro holds a wine diner featuring artisan wines from Italy and words from wine importer Agostino Berti that begins at 6:30 p.m. Call 336.279.8525 to make a re3servation.

Also on Tuesday, the Cobblestone Farmers Market does its thing on 3rd Street in downtown Winston-Salem, with a featured item, cooking demo and maybe some live music.
