triad dj profile

by Ryan Snyder

DJ handle: Krost

Why I use it: My friends use to call me Criss Cross and eventually started saying, “Let’s get Crossed,” so I made a DJ name out of it.”

Real name: Ryan Cross

What I play: I play everything from drum and bass to electro house to dubstep. Liquid drum and bass is my heart though.

Upcoming shows: March 9: Futurebound at Club Orion’s. April 7: Odi at Club Orion’s. I have many more shows in the next couple of months, so like my page and Smash Bro’z Productions page to stay up.

Got in the game: I got my first set of turntables seven years ago and have been grinding ever since

Why I do it: Since I was 10 years old I have been listening to electronic music and eventually I decided that it was my biggest passion, so I started spinning myself.

Influences: I have many influences in all genres of music. I appreciate all good quality music.

First pro gig: I was in the Marine Corps for five years and didn’t have much time to play out until last summer. I have been playing parties for Smash Bro’z Productions, TEAM Facebass, Top Down Productions and Xan Dali Productions ever since.

Studio work: Just started working on production and should have some of my own tracks within the year.

Favorite technique: To bring as much soul and groove into every set I play as possible.

Signature mix: “Soul Food” ( Liquid DnB mix I made about six months ago).

Personal playlist: I listen to everything to include all forms of electronic music to jam bands to old hip hop.

Favorite albums: Anything from Ram Records, Viper Recordings, Hospital Records, etc.

My gear: I use Pioneer 900 CDJs, Pioneer DJM-800 mixer, Technic 1210-MKII’s Website: Soundcloud: djkrost, Facebook: php?id=801195494, promotion company: Productions I’d like to add: Please go like the Smash Bro’z Production page to stay up on all upcoming Drum and Bass, Dubstep, electro house, breaks, etc shows in Charlotte, Greensboro, Asheville, Wilmington coming up in the near future.
