Mark your calendars for the tastiest event of the summer – Hospice of the Piedmont’s 24th annual Taste of the Town. Bring the gang out to enjoy a wide variety of appetizing samples from area restaurants, caterers, and beverage vendors. If shopping is your thing, enjoy bidding on a wide-range of items and gift certificates at the silent auction. All proceeds benefit Hospice of the Piedmont – a non-profit agency that provides medical, emotional, and spiritual care for terminally-ill patients and their families in four counties – Guilford, Randolph, Davidson, and Forsyth.nnTickets will be available for advance purchase starting on July 16 at High Point Bank branches and online at www.hospicetaste.com. Annual Fish Fry

The Jamestown Friends of the Library will hold its annual fish fry on Saturday, May 25 from 4:30 until 7:30 at the Jamestown Town Hall. Plates will offer flounder cooked in canola oil, baked potato, cole slaw, hush puppies made with a mix from the Old Mill of Guilford, and iced tea. It will cost $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children. Dinners can be eaten in or taken out. A bake sale table will provide dessert portions as well as uncut baked items.

On Sunday, June 9 at 1:30 pm, Dishcrawl will explore some of Greensboro’s historic and growing Downtown eateries to savor their brunch offerings. For only $45, local food lovers will experience a culinary journey at four different restaurants within one afternoon. It’s like a pubcrawl - just more delicious! nScott Barkan is a guitarist, singer and %u200Bsongwriter based in New York's Hudson Valley.After years of working as an in demand sideman for various songwriters and bands around the country, having his guitar playing and songwriting featured on national television (The Real World, The Hills, Keeping up with the Kardashians, etc.), as well as leading numerous guitar oriented instrumental projects, Scott has recently struck out as an acoustic based solo artist.n%u200BnThe new project, which finds Scott's signature shimmering guitar tones and skronky, avant/country improvisations serving as the backdrop for his witty, self-effacing and often heartbreaking lyric writing, is without-a-doubt Barkan's most personal project to date.
