GM announces WP Kitchen + Bar Friendly Center closing
An Open Letter from GM of WP Kitchen + Bar
I would like to begin by expressing my sincere gratitude for your patronage. 2017 was a great year! Our monthly theme dinners were a roaring success and we got the chance to explore some of our catering capabilities, which was really fun for us. In a year of change, the one constant has been you, the loyal guest, and I truly appreciate you. Over the years, many of you have come to be a part of our family and we are so blessed by your presence and time spent with us.
As 2017 comes to an end, a new year brings new challenges and possibilities. The prospect of 2018 is no different. As many of you know, we have been exploring the possibility of upgrading our facility for years. We have been in negotiations with our landlord to find a new location that will better serve our operations and our guest’s needs. In the process of these negotiations, we were approached by a third party that was willing to move into our space. We have mutually agreed to vacate the property effective Jan. 1, 2018. For us, this is a bittersweet moment. On one hand, we could not move to a new facility without finding a tenant for our current location, so this is a good thing. On the other hand, we are actively seeking a new location but have not yet found one that fits our needs.
As we look ahead to the future, we want the next iteration of Wolfgang Puck in Greensboro to be a lasting part of this community, so we are determined to get everything just right. 2018 will be our most challenging year to date, but very well could turn out to be our most rewarding year as well.
Over the years, our staff has grown close to many of you and many of you have grown close to our staff. As a company, we understand that a business is only as good as the people that run that business. I can honestly say that my staff has been my greatest asset. From Paul Cloninger, Austin Heuser and Chef Matt Culpepper to Kaitlyn, Carly, Samm, Kemper, Courtney and the others, this has been the best staff I have ever had the pleasure to work with. They have been loyal to me and I will continue to help and support them in their future endeavors. Many of them have already found employment in the local area and I am working with my contacts to ensure everyone has a good job to start 2018.
To Klaus Puck and the WP family, they have been extremely supportive of the staff in this process and we are grateful to him for his compassion. It is my sincere hope that we will find a new facility soon and when that day happens, we will get the band back together. That will truly be a great day and I look forward to sharing that news to come when it becomes official!
Last but not least, I want to express my gratitude to you, our guests, that have supported us over the years. In many ways, you are just as much a part our WP family as any of us. I wish you only the best for 2018 and I hope that we will reunite soon. Happy holidays to you and yours and thank you for your continued support.
