Resident camp sessions are offered in June and July at three of the council’s camp properties – Camp Ginger Cascades (Lenoir, NC), Camp Pisgah (Brevard, NC) and Keyauwee Program Center (Sophia, NC). Day camps will also be offered at each resident camp with convenient drop-off and pick-up locations available to transport girls to and from day camp.
These three Girl Scout camps offer traditional camp activities that include swimming, boating, nature exploration, low challenge course, hiking and campfire gatherings within its specialty sessions that target the arts, dance, horseback riding, water activities, adventure sports, science and more. Each of the sleeping areas have access to electricity, plumbing and hot showers.
“Girl Scout summer camp programs encourage girls to discover new ideas and skills,” said Lane Cook, chief executive officer of Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont. “Camp is a place where girls also connect to people and ideas by learning the value of cooperation and team building. They develop friendships and memories that can last a lifetime.”
GSCP2P resident camp programs are accredited by the American Camp Association, which means they undergo a thorough review process by outside camping professionals every three years, achieving the highest standard in the areas of personnel, program, site administration and health care.

About Girl Scouts of the USA – We’re 2.8 million strong—2 million girls and 800,000 adults who believe girls can change the world. It began over 100 years ago with one woman, Girl Scouts’ founder Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low, who believed in the power of every girl. She organized the first Girl Scout troop on March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia, and every year since, we’ve made her vision a reality, helping girls discover their strengths, passions, and talents. Today we continue the Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. We’re the preeminent leadership development organization for girls. And with programs for girls from coast to coast and across the globe, Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to do something amazing.
