YWCA Hosts Discussion on the #MeToo Campaign
Community members are invited to a discussion on the Me Too campaign and sexual harassment on Jan. 23 at 6 pm at the YWCA High Point (155 W Westwood Ave.) Given the national conversation on sexual harassment and the recent revelations made by women coming forth with stories about sexual harassment they’ve faced in many of the top industries, the YWCA will allow a space for further discussion to talk about this in our local community.
Dr. Jenn Brandt, the director of the Women’s and Gender Studies program at High Point University will facilitate a conversation around the women’s rights movement and the context that gave way to the Me Too movement. Attendees will be able to better understand what constitutes sexual harassment and the ways we can be responsive to fight sexism and sexual assault. This program event is sponsored by members of YWCA Social Justice Committee as part of their January Front Porch Conversation and open to the public.
