With the interest in Sake growing in the USA, on April 12, 2018, a Sake Seminar at Zeto wine & cheese shop (Greensboro, NC), will be presented by Sara E. Guterbock, CS, CBS, ISS, CWE, DipWSET.
Guterbock, a Certified Sommelier and Certified Wine Educator, is also qualified to teach the Wine and Spirits Education Trust’s highest level sake certification (only one of about 40 people in the world to do so).
Guterbock’s Sake Seminar is for those new to Sake and those who already enjoy it. She answers :

How do you decipher sake terminology?
How do you drink and store it?

Guterbock will lead participants through samples of foods and the 9 Sakes to demonstrate Sake’s unparalleled ability to accompany many food types while showing the wide range of Sake styles!

About Sara E. Guterbock, CS, CBS, ISS, CWE, DipWSET
Sara E. Guterbock is the Sommelier, Wine, Sale and Sales Educator for Mutual Distributing Company. She is a Certified Sommelier (CS) through the Court of Master Sommeliers, a Certified Wine Educator (CWE) through the Society of Wine Educators, received her Diploma in Wine & Spirits (DipWSET) through the Wine and Spirits Education Trust in London, England, in 2012, and became a Level 3 Sake Educator for WSET in January, 2017.
In 2014, Guterbock was among the first groups of people in the United States to be qualified as an International Sake Sommelier (ISS) through Sake School of America & The Sake Service Institute of Japan. In 2017, she became one of only 40 people, worldwide, qualified to teach the Wine and Spirits Education Trust’s highest level sake certification. Guterbock teaches these qualifications all along the eastern seaboard from Manhatten to Atlanta. She travels extensively in Japan, researching Japanese Sake culture, facilitating relationships with breweries, and attending trade programs. Currently she is also working on a book designed to link the worlds of wine and sake, two of her greatest passions.
