2020 – 2030 Strategic Vision of The Greensboro Science Center To Be Announced
GREENSBORO, NC — The Greensboro Science Center (GSC) will announce the result of its recent economic impact study and unveil its 2020 – 2030 strategic vision during a press conference on Tuesday, June 18 at 10:00 a.m. Members of the media and City of Greensboro representatives, as well as GSC Board of Directors, staff and volunteers are invited to attend. The event will take place in the GSC’s SAIL (Science Advancement through Innovative Learning) Center.
During the event, Glenn Dobrogosz, CEO of the GSC, will share highlights from The Economic Study of the Greensboro Science Center, completed in May 2019 by Sage Policy Group, Inc. Sage used IMPLAN, an industry standard economic impact analysis program, to generate the estimates. Copies of the full 22-page document will be available for media to take for complete analysis.
In addition, Dobrogosz will unveil the GSC’s vision for the next decade, entitled The Gateway Project: Opening Minds and Building Futures through Science and the Arts. Attendees will be among the first to see over a dozen full-color renderings of new exhibits, experiences and events planned over the next 10 years. Members of the media in attendance will be offered a 24-page strategic vision booklet that provides additional information and images.
“The Greensboro Science Center has grown from a wonderful local asset into a nationally recognized leader in innovative science interpretation,” Dobrogosz says. “Our amazing partnership with the City of Greensboro, combined with game-changing relationships with impassioned donors, members, volunteers, and citizens in our community, have opened new doors of growth and potential. As we grow, so does Greensboro’s cultural identity, brand and new potential to be home to a top-five attraction in the state of North Carolina. With our first master plan soon to be complete, we are excited to finally answer the question we get almost every day – What’s next?”
The unveiling event will take approximately 20 minutes. After the presentation, GSC staff will be available for questions and interviews.
