Furniture and logistics company expanding in High Point
OFS Brands, a High Point furniture and logistics company, announced plans on Tuesday to expand by adding 188 full-time jobs over the next five years and upgrading its facility at the southern end of the city. A press release from the High Point Economic Development Corp. indicated new jobs will average wages of $40,700 and that the expansion will add $9.3 million to the local tax base. Gov. Pat McCrory announced a $300,000 performance-based incentives grant on Tuesday. The High Point City Council had previously authorized $220,000 in incentives, while the Guilford County Commission approved $188,000 to sweeten the deal.
Opportunities to vend in Winston-Salem
Food and merchandise vendors interested in selling their products at the Centennial Party in the Plaza on May 11 are invited to submit applications by March 28. Applications should be submitted to City of Winston-Salem, Attn. Ken Millett, Community and Business Development Department, PO Box 2511, Winston-Salem, NC 27101. The party, which follows a parade, commemorates the centennial of the founding of the city of Winston- Salem, which came about through a merger of Salem and Winston in 1913.
