We’re starting to see a disturbing trend here on Page Three, where we routinely feature comely college students and highlight their ambitions and goals. Many of them in recent months have expressed a strong desire to “get the hell out of Dodge” upon graduation, no matter how thriving our downtown is or how much tax money we earmark for corporate incentives. Take this week’s model, Ellarie Noel, a 20-year-old business management junior at NC A&T who hails from Sacramento, Calif. and plans to hit the road after she graduates next year. LA, she says. Or maybe Miami. “It’s a busy city and I was born in a busy city. When I came here everything kind of slowed down.” And she’s toying with the idea of doing some modeling. “People ask me all the time, especially on MySpace, if I do any modeling. But I know that’s just a cheesy pickup line.” Smart girl. We could use more like her here in Greensboro.
