Letters from the May 11 issue
Waking up Greensboro
Hello Brian Clarey, Just wanted to drop you a line to say congrats on YES! Weekly. Each issue seems to get better and better!
Best of luck to all of you guys, I applaud what you are doing for Greensboro.
Wanted to also tell you that our new site is up channelreddesign.com There are cool pics under the RED EVENT button at bottom left of page.
We are also working with Entercom and Make A Wish Foundation for another big colorful event WAKE UP GREENSBORO! 2005, a candy-colored, bubble-popping, nostalgic pajama party that we will be throwing at Heaven, Thursday, July 28. Mark this down on your calendar as we are expecting you to come turn it out with us again.
I will keep you in the loop as we get closer to the date.
Keep up the great work, Greensboro needed some refreshing new papers here!

What truth needs to be reconciled?
I would like to read the list of questions for which the ‘truth’ is being sought. What is to be ‘reconciled?’ I’m serious. Having taught social studies for 30-plus years, ‘what’s happening’ has been the focus of much of my attention. Best that I can figure these T & R folks are either stroking each others’ egos or seeking financial support.
Apart from that, in 1979, this was not a racial issue. Correct me, but was this not a ‘Death to the Klan’ rally staged by communists in a predominantly minority neighborhood?
If you were challenged to attend a ‘Kick Brian’s Butt’ rally, and you showed up and kicked ass, where would the mystery lie?
Thanks, I enjoy your work.
The last ‘Kick Brian’s Butt’ rally was an impromptu affair held in 1994 on the banks of a thin river in upstate New York. Attendance on my part was mandatory. No word yet on the next one. ‘—bc
