It’s been more than a month since we featured aspiring husband Chris Gibbs here on Page Three, betuxedoed and down on one knee asking for the hand of Penny Bass, his one and only. We are pleased to report that Ms. Bass accepted Mr. Gibbs’ modest proposal of a life lived in happiness, hand in hand. And then they went to Mexico for a few days. No final word on the wedding date, but here is a picture of the happy family: Penny, Chris and 10-year-old Della Gibbs. They’ll reside in their house on Tate Street with the big font porch for the foreseeable future. Chris, a recent graduate of NC A&T University who is forging his career as a landscape architect, once worked on fishing boats and yachts. Now he and his family will set sail on the sea of matrimony.
