Nathan Zimmerman, the 21-year-old UNCG junior who waits tables at the downtown drinkery currently known as Hemingway’s, is a pretty good-looking kid. He’s also a damn fine human being. Zim has been active in the Big Brothers and Sisters of Greensboro for the last two and a half years, acting as mentor, role model and friend for kids who might otherwise lose their way. ‘“I was never very serious about school,’” he says. ‘“I got to college, started to take care of business and wanted to do more, I guess.’” Zim requested this Page Three slot because the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greensboro is looking for volunteers to help with the program. ‘“We need sixty new ones by June,’” he says. Interested parties should get in touch with him via e-mail: email@example.com. YES! Weekly makes a plea to all of our readers to help with this very worthy cause, and we salute this young man who tries to make the world a better place through action, not words.
