Lewis classic, set in the land of Narnia, faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia. The intense action features chases, duels and escapes as the witch is determined to keep Narnia in her possession and to end the reign of Aslan. All the memorable episodes from the story are represented in this exciting dramatization: the temptation of Edmund by the witch, the slaying of the evil wolf by Peter, the witnessing of Aslans resurrection by Susan and Lucy, the crowing of the four new rulers of Narnia, and more. Dead & Company – 7:30 pm | $50-$99
Greensboro Coliseum Complex
1921 West Gate City Blvd. Greensboro, NC 27403
(September 10, 2015) On the heels of numerous sold-out shows, Dead & Company are announcing additional U.S. dates. Grateful Dead members Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir joined forces with singer/guitarist John Mayer to form the band Dead & Company. The band will take the stage at a series of shows this Fall including two nights at The legendary Madison Square Garden and will perform two sets of music drawing largely from the Deads historic catalog of songs. The Grateful Dead members Hart, Kreutzmann, Weir, and bassist Phil Lesh reunited this summer for Fare Thee Well, a run of five sold-out stadium shows celebrating the Deads 50th anniversary as well as marking the last time the core four members would perform together. (Lesh will continue to perform in his band Phil and Friends.) The shows were a record-setting success, and ignited enthusiasm for more concerts featuring Grateful Dead members. ‘There is a place where music, dreams and magic come together, says band member Mickey Hart. Grateful Dead music is a portal to that place. It was built to last! ‘Fare Thee Well proved to me that I’m not done exploring new rhythmic territory with Mickey Im recommending that everyone puts their helmet on, because we are going to blast our way into some serious drums and space,’ said Bill Kreutzmann. And with Mayer riding shotgun with Weir were in good company, so to speak. Mayer will join Hart, Kreutzmann and Weir, along with Allman Brothers bassist Oteil Burbridge and Fare Thee Well and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. I deeply love the Deads music, and it has inspired me in ways I never imagined. To help carry this music is the opportunity and the honor of a lifetime, Mayer said. ‘We’re not done with these songs and they’re not done with us, said Weir. We’re gonna take these old friends on some new adventures. Dead & Company will play the Greensboro Coliseum on Saturday November 14. Tickets will go on-sale to the general public on September 18th at 10a.m. American Express Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning September 16th at 10 a.m. local time.
