Greensboro, NC – The Carolina Theatre of Greensboro will present the 6th Annual Command Performance Benefit Gala on Thursday, April 20, featuring Ben Folds.

Guests will have the option of purchasing show tickets to the Ben Folds and a Piano concert at 8:00pm, or to the pre-concert cocktails and gourmet dinner starting at 5:30pm. Proceeds from Command Performance provide additional operating funds for the 89-year-old Carolina Theatre, Downtown Greensboro’s original performing arts center.

ABOUT BEN FOLDS – Ben Folds is regarded as one of the major music influencers of our generation. He has spent over a decade sharing the stage with some of the world’s greatest symphony orchestras from Sydney, Australia to the Kennedy Center, performing his pop hits and his critically acclaimed concerto for Piano and Orchestra. Throughout his career, he has created a body of genre-bending musical art that includes pop albums as the front man for Ben Folds Five, multiple solo rock albums, as well as unique collaborative records with artists from Sara Bareilles and Regina Spektor, to Weird Al and William Shatner. Folds is back on the road this year, pounding pianos on a tour reminiscent of his earliest solo tours, delivering a high energy rock performance using the intimacy of just a piano.

Past Carolina Theatre Command Performance artists include Roberta Flack, KC and the Sunshine Band, The Pointer Sisters, Paula Poundstone, and Boz Scaggs.

Tickets for the April 20 Command Performance Benefit Gala will go on sale at noon on Friday, January 13, 2017.

    • Gala and Concert – $250: Cocktails in the Carolina Theatre’s elegant lobby followed by a gourmet dinner in the Renaissance Room overlooking the lobby, or in The Crown on the third floor, with premium seats at the benefit concert
    • Orchestra Pit Seating – $125: Exclusive seating in the Carolina Theatre’s orchestra pit for the Ben Folds and a Piano performance
    • Concert-Only Tickets – $75, $60, $45 or $25: Prices based on location

Please note: A $3 Theatre Facility Fee and NC sales tax will be added to show-only tickets. (Gala tickets include taxes and fees.) Tickets may be purchased by calling or visiting the Carolina Theatre Box Office at 336. 333.2605 from noon to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, or online at CarolinaTheatre.com.

Sponsorships are available at multiple levels. For more information, contact Brenda Studt at 336.333.3600 ext 9.
